  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism

  • The fertility process

  • Tokophobia (fear of childbirth)

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Co-parenting and relationship disharmony

  • Intergenerational trauma

  • Adjusting to the transition to parenthood

  • And many more...

Gold-standard, evidence-based interventions, including:

  • Behavioural Therapy and Positive Parenting Interventions

Helping parents to build strong bonds with their children whilst promoting respectful behaviour. These approaches focus on understanding children's emotions, setting clear boundaries, and using gentle, consistent discipline to guide them positively. This may be in the context of suspected ADHD, or general difficulties.

  • Cognitive and Behavioural Approaches

There are a wide-range of CBT therapies. Most involve identifying patterns of beliefs (cognitions) and coping strategies (behaviours) that may be keeping problems stuck, and supporting families to experiment with new ways. Tends to be somewhat focussed on practical strategies in the 'here and now', though can benefit from looking at the past, and relationships too.

  • Parent-Infant Psychotherapy

Working with parent and child to understand the patterns in the relationship and how this may be affecting their wellbeing. Valuable in identifying patterns that may have been passed down through generations, and empowering parents to relate to their babies in new ways.

  • Trauma-Focussed Therapies

Building a foundation of safety and stabilisation, and systematically reprocessing the memories using Cognitive Therapy for PTSD (CT-PTSD) and Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Depending on the situation and personal preference, this may or may not involve talking in depth about the traumatic event/s.

  • Observation and Video-Assisted Therapies

Using infant or child observation, and sometimes videos of parent-child interactions, to understand a baby or child's cues and notice a parent's strengths and attuned responses. Helps parents to see things they are doing well and build on these.

  • Systemic Family Therapies

Helping families to understand relationship patterns in the family, including between parents, and how these may have been passed down. Helps each family member to understand their individual background, and the family as a whole to find a new, united, way forward.

Life is best organised as a series of daring ventures from a secure base.
